Adapted from "Friendly Foods," by Brother Ron Pickarski, O.F.M.

Serves 6

6 tart baking apples, preferably Granny Smith
¾ cup Flanigan Farms Pecan Pieces, chopped
6 Flanigan Farms Pecan Halves
4 tbsp pure maple syrup
½ tbsp lime juice (or lemon juice)

Core apples from the top, cutting a fairly wide opening but leaving the bottom intact.
Combine chopped pecans, syrup and lime juice, dividing the pecan filling equally among the 6 apples.
Place the apples in a baking dish and add about a half inch of water to the pan.
If pan does not have a lid, cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350ºF for 20 to 30 minutes.
Garnish with a pecan half on each apple and baste with juices. Serve warm.
