Almond Banana Milk
1/3 cup Flanigan Farms Blanched Almonds (slivered or whole) ˝ ripe Banana 1˝ Tbsp. Honey 1 capsule Lecithin 1 capsule Flaxseed oil 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla 3 cups hot water.
Toast Almonds. When cool, grind almonds finely in a nut grinder, or food processor. Transfer the ground nuts to a blender and add the banana, honey, lecithin, flaxseed oil, vanilla and 1 cup of very hot water. Blend until creamy. Add the other 2 cups of water and continue blending until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh screen and chill. The milk will keep for about three days in a closed container in the refrigerator. Mix again when serving,
TIP: It is easier to dry roast and grind a cup of nuts rather that just the 1/3 that is need for this recipe. Store the extra in a closed container in the refrigerator for the next time, or use them in baking or to coat fish or chicken. |
