NUTS ‘N’ FRUIT™ COOKIES

 Makes about 3 dozen cookies that will vanish quickly.

 

1 ½ cup All purpose flour

1 teaspoon Baking Soda 

1 teaspoon Cinnamon

½ teaspoon Salt

3 cups Rolled Oats

1 6 oz pkg  Flanigan Farms Nuts 'N' Fruit™

2 sticks butter or margarine, softened

1 cup Brown Sugar firmly packed

½ cup Granulated sugar

2 eggs,  lightly beaten

2 Tablespoons Orange Juice

Zest of 1 orange (see Tip)

 

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

 

In large bowl, cream together the butter or margarine and sugars. Add the eggs, orange zest and orange juice. Mix well. In separate bowl blend together flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Add these dry ingredients to the batter and mix again.  Fold in the oats and "Nuts 'N' Fruit".  Blend together well.  Mixture will be thick.

Drop on cookie sheet by rounded teaspoons.

Press down slightly and shape with back of wet spoon.  Bake about 12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet after about a minute, then cool on rack.
