Nut Recipes

This classic pesto can be used hot or chilled, tossed with pasta or spread on fresh Italian bread. Enjoy!

 

CLASSIC (PINE NUT) PESTO

 

18-25 fresh Basil leaves - no stems

1/3 cup FLANIGAN FARMS PINE NUTS (walnuts can be substituted)

2 cloves fresh garlic, peeled

˝ cup virgin olive oil, light

˝ cup Parmesan cheese, grated.

 

Process fresh basil leaves, garlic and nuts in food processor until finely chopped.  With machine still running, pour in olive oil in a thin stream.  Add cheese and blend until smooth.  The pesto may be thinned with a little water if desired.
