Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are normally decorticated either mechanically or chemically, which means that the hulls are removed. In the chemical process, a caustic soda is used to dissolve the hulls. This leaves some residue, increasing the sodium content and altering the flavor.  You can be sure the FLANIGAN FARMS sesame seeds are always the finest mechanically "hulled" seeds.  They are an annual crop grown in many parts of the world, but native to Guatemala.  Mexico is the largest grower. China is also a major producer and user.
